These enormous and magnificent creatures aren’t afraid to show themselves to the public and many different tours are established to offer the opportunity to sight these awe inspiring sea mammals.
KOGGALA STILT FISHERMEN
An old and remote fishing technique is used in the Southern province
of Sri Lanka that is a sight worth seeing.
The fishermen's poles are created so that the fishermen can sit on them to fish in deeper waters. It is recommended to go there around 5pm as it combines sunset, ocean and Sri Lankan tradition in to one beautiful experience.
SNORKELING & SWIMMING WITH TURTLES
Swimming with turtles is an extraordinary experience,
which many people only dream of.
It is pure magic to see and be present in the company of these animals in their natural habitat. In addition to the turtles, there are also many other beautiful fish one can encounter at the reef.
JEEP SAFARI IN ONE OF THE NATIONAL PARKS
A Jeep Safari can be done in one of the two most attractive national parks
Sri Lanka has to offer: Yala and Udawalawa.
Many different animals can be seen - the royal eagle, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants, monitor lizards, and leopards. Be surrounded in the pure wilderness of Sri Lanka by going on one of these jeep safaris.

Sri Lanka is also well known amongst the surfing community
as it offers good waves to surf on.
Many different places are available for different people at different stages of skill in the practice of surfing. Private lessons can be obtained by local surf instructors.
UNESCO HERITAGE SITE GALLE FORT
Visit The UNESCO site of Galle Fort, a fort built by the Portuguese and Dutch during the colonial period.
The fort and the immediate surrounding area is a beautiful combination of religions and traditions - influenced by the wide variety of cultures of the different people who have lived there over the years, as well as those currently residing there. It has recently developed into a hotspot for shopping, cafes, restaurants and bars making it a quaint blend of old and modern.
VISIT A TEA FACTORY
Another noteworthy thing to do in Sri Lanka's southern district is to visit
a tea plantation and the rice paddy fields.
The sprawling fields are amazing in their green simplicity and are one the most important sources of income for the Sri Lankan economy. The people take pride in their hard work hard and it is fantastic to see the ongoing growth of Sri Lanka through the exporting of the these natural plants.
